We work with kids who use assistive technology every day. Making the site work for the adults who serve those kids matters. This is what we try to do, and what to say if we get it wrong.

What we aim for

WCAG 2.1 Level AA where we can reach it. We're a small team, we won't always hit it, but that's the target.

What we do

Real headings, real landmarks. Not just big text.
Enough contrast on text and buttons.
Layouts that hold up on a phone, on a tablet, and zoomed in.
Link text that says where it's going.
Alt text on images that carry meaning. Empty alt on images that are decoration.
Keyboard usable. You should be able to tab through the site and see where you are.

Tell us what's broken
